Haitian Earthquake / Jeremey Willet Friends and partners of Kingdom Extreme, We need your prayers. One of our columnist, Jeremy Willet of the band Willet has not been able to contact his wife who is a missionary to Haiti. As you may know Haiti was hit bay a very strong earthquake on Tuesday. You can see news coverage of the damage and situation here.
See photo gallery here. I believe Jeremy is on tour with his band in New Zealand at this time.
We are asking you to keep could Jeremy and his wife Kathleen in your prays.
You can read a little about Kathleen & Jeremy’s work in Haiti at this link:
Thank you, The staff of Kingdom Extreme
UPDATE: We were so thankful to learn of Kathleen and the volunteers, and the children’s safety yesterday. Today, a text was sent to Kat’s mom that said, “Hey mom, I’m ok’ We r waiting to get internet up to tell all what is going on we r ok just being there for those who have lost I will keep in touch. God is so amazing! ” – Kat Because of the magnitude of the earthquake, much prayer is still needed for the following: 1. Safety because of the enormous amount of looting taking place in Haiti as survivors desperately search for food and water. 2. Many Aid organizations still haven’t been able to land in Haiti because of the backed up airport and poor infrastructure of the capital of Port-au-prince 3. 6 of 19 Food for the Hungry staff members have checked in so far – still waiting to hear from many of their conditions… 4. This earthquake is being called “hell came up” by Haitians. Our response to this will determine if they feel as though “Heaven Came Down”…. I’m hoping to be able to get a hold of Kathleen via phone sometime today.
We rejoice that they are safe – but we can not cease to pray. -Jeremy
Pastor Brad has posted a new Metal Devotional titled “Metal Encouragement for the Soul!” which talks about how music has helped some people through bouts of depression and lead them to stronger relationships with good. You can see it all here!

In The Midst Of Lions
Facedown Records is proud to announce the signing of St. Louis, Missouri’s In The Midst of Lions.
In the Midst of Lions grew up in the St. Louis music scene saturated with hardcore and indie bands. “Our local scene influenced our style to be a little bit different than the run of the mill death metal.” A mixture of fast-paced tech metal and grinding melodic worship, their sound can be compared to such contemporaries as Meshuggah, The Faceless, Whitechapel, and Darkest Hour. Saving Grave – Unbreakable – Review
Strike First Records come screaming into the new year with a stellar release from New Zealand natives SAVING GRACE. With a January 5th, United States release date this disk is sure to warm your frost bitten fingers on a cold winter’s night. There is killer guitar work, something that is often lacking in hardcore bands, and the breakdowns are brutal. The album opens with a track title “End of Days (intro)” that made me want to jump right out of my desk chair and start my own private mosh pit right here in the office. Continue Reading

The first single, “Rules of Engagement,” is available today for purchase on iTunes and for streaming on the band’s MySpace page.
“Rules of Engagement just came out as a really strong song musically,” says singer and guitarist Bruce Fitzhugh, who, with the rest of LIVING SACRIFICE, is celebrating 20 years of genre-defining metal. “It was one of the last songs that we wrote for the record and it came together really well. It was one that we wrote in pre-production. We all agreed that it would be the song that we wanted for the video.” The video will be making its debut shortly. Continue Reading…
Family Force 5’s Fatty has Kidney Failure
On Nov 29th Family force 5 member Joshua “Fatty” Olds was taken to the emergency room because he was throwing up and had blood in his urine. He was reportedly in great pain, but in good enough spirits to be singing Michael Jackson songs. What was originally thought to be kidney stones turned out to be some sort of kidney failure. He was transferred to another hospital and was reportedly severely dehydrated. He was sequentially moved to a Intensive Care room and placed on dialysis.
Since he has begun Treatment, he has been able to eat some yogurt and fruits, and even urinate a little on his own. He has also been moved from ICU to a regular room. Hopes are that he will be released from the hospital around Dec 15th if things continue to progress.
The band missed two shows on the Christmas Pageant tour, but returned to the stage sans-Fatty in Cincinnati, OH and will continue on through the rest of December. The band has also announced they will be hitting the road in 2010 with Cobra Starship.

FLYLEAF-Memento Mori
I’ve got to hand it to Flyleaf. They had a lot of commercial success with their debut album, but even with all the success they never compromised their Christian stance. It takes some brass ones to put out an album like this these days. It’s far bolder in terms of Christian themed lyrics than the last.. Continue Reading
AUSTRIAN DEATH MACHINE - Double Brutal
I did not expect to like Austrian Death Machine as much as I did. For the uninitiated, Austrian Death Machine is a side project of Tim Lambesis from As I Lay Dying. I’ve never heard As I Lay Dying so I can’t say how they sound compared to this. But what I can say is that Austrian Death Machine is full throttle, fist-in-the-air, pounding thrash metal. Continue Reading
THE CRUCIFIED- Complete Collection
It’s awesome. The first disc consists of the band’s first demo when they were still called KGB. It’s noisy and obnoxious. It reminds me, of all things, Lust Control. However, the first CD also has the Take Up Your Cross and Nailed demos. These are punk for the most part – pretty proficient punk if you ask me. Continue Reading
STYRPER - Murder By Pride
Murder By Pride is a solid offering that will definitely please longtime fans and hopefully bring some apostate fans back into the fold. I’m impressed to see what they’ve done here and am excited about what they could do in the future. If Murder By Pride is any indication, Stryper may once again be a rock force to be reckoned with.Continue Reading
CAGE - Science of Anihilation
This album grabs you by the throat right at the beginning with an eary sounding intro—it’s sort of sounds like one of those “end of the world” things… very gripping… and then they launch into “Planet Crusher” — a good name for the tune–it’s a power metal crusher for sureContinue Reading
THRESHER - Here I Am
I here a lot of Metalica and Megadeth influence here—in song writing, style and vocals—which is great! I love both of those bands. Another nice comparison between Thresher and the above-mentioned influences is that these guys can play lead guitar! As a guitarist who cares about lead guitar a lot, I always listen critically to the lead guitar parts—and these guys pass the test with flying colorsContinue Reading
THIEVES & LIARS- American Rock-n-Roll
This is quintessential American Rock-n-Roll! Killer riffs… groovin’ rhythms that you can’t help but move to… raspy vocals… attitude… a message that’s, Christ-centered, straight from the heart, and belted out with a truck-load of passion… yup—this here is genuine American Rock-n- Roll, the way it’s supposed to be played – LOUD –n- PROUD! Continue Reading
INHALE EXHALE - Bury Me Alive This album is one of the most exhilarating and re-freshing releases I’ve had the pleasure of listening to in years. Continue Reading
FAMILY FORCE 5 - Christmas Pagent This album is a collection of synth pop with excessive amounts of auto-tune effects. Family Force 5 has successfully taken an innovative band with energy, creativity and catchy tracks and boiled it down to third rate, teeny-bopper pop songs. This album is a disgusting departure from the sound that made this band the force they are (or where). Continue Reading
HAWK NELSON - Live Life Loud Can you say anthem, straight forward rock, with hooks everywhere. Bouncy, fun, feel good rock for a new generation of youth. Hawk Nelson have carved out a fanatic fan base, that are drawn to their immediately recognizable sound. Continue Reading
PILLAR - Confessions Pillar has stepped to the front of the stage with this new release, with two new members and an updated sound. The band’s polished heavy rock sound follows forma and could be placed in rotation of any rock radio and hold it’s own or better.Continue Reading
There are a handful of bands who we have met and worked with over the years who have shown a great humility and desire to spread the gosple. Not to
undermine the talents and comitments of other bands, but these few have
extended both a hand of friendship and a Christ like attitude. We applaude
you and support you in all your efforts!
